Everything Returns to God

Double consciousness lives in a self divided.

It is the moment the self separates from its own existence.

We can see it happening in self awareness.

I am looking at me, and this I is looking back at me.

There is the one who sees and the one being seen.

The self becomes an object to itself.

We become worldly.

We begin believing the world is real when it is passing, rising and falling, rising and falling, a perfect circle.

And then we throw life onto it as if it isn’t already perfect.

We give what is passing the authority of what is eternal.

We call it alive.

We call it true.

We call it dead.

We call it over.

But nothing really dies.

It returns.

It returns to its natural state, before we had language for it.

So how do we leave the world?

We put it back on ourselves.

What we see outside ourselves, we begin to see within ourselves and are at peace with it.

We walk with it in peace because we know that every possibility appearing through the invisible is already part of the whole.

There is nothing outside of it.

We imagine life and then call what we imagine alive.

We give our images names and histories and endings.

Then we grieve them as though they were separate from us.

But everything is constantly returning.

Everything rises.

Everything falls.

Everything returns.

We live as one inside it.

And when we begin to pull away, we know that too.

We feel the separation.

We see the division.

And we return.

This is what everything does.

Every thought.

Every feeling.

Every body.

Every person.

Everything returns.
