Love is The Nature of Peace

When you love, you are led to peace.

The love I speak of is different from the worldly love marketed to us through Instagram and social media.

That love is often self-love portrayed as permanent:

“I love myself when I’m sad.”

“I love myself when I’m fat.”

“I love myself when I’m skinny.”

But this is a fleeting love. It is popular in a world lost in itself because it makes us feel something—even when that feeling itself is fleeting and causes harm.

Peace is peace.

God is God.

God does not need you—not in the way we often imagine.

We are not even permanent. So if God needed us, I suppose we would be in trouble.

But God can use us.

God can use us to express its nature.

And what is that nature?

Peace.

Peace in happiness.

Peace in triumph.

Peace in suffering.

Peace even in the things that do not last.

It does not matter what you go through today, or at any other point in your life. It is passing.

And the more you allow it to pass, the more peaceful you remain.

When you become lost in thought, return.

Return to the revealing nature of peace.

Because love is the nature of peace.

They are one and the same.

They are one body revealing itself to a world that cannot love it because it is dead.

It is already dead.

And this is what we have been trying to remember all along:

What passes was never ours to keep.

What is peace does not need to be held.

And what is love does not need to be possessed.

It only needs to be revealed.
