Language is one of the greatest limitations to communication, yet we assume someone understands us simply because we speak the same language.

Language, however, does not account for perception.

The perception of a word.
The perception of another person.
The perception of life itself.

And because humans create meaning out of life, we are ultimately, almost always, not speaking the same language.

Judgment is the separation of life from life itself.

It isn’t really possible to do this, but humans, in our arrogance, assume that we can.

We make some people good and others bad.
Some people powerful and others powerless.

You can see it in race, gender, religion; even people of the same race, gender, and religion do this, which makes it all the more fascinating—in almost every structure humans create to distinguish one life from another.

But it begins much earlier than that.

It begins in the human.

All of it.

So when we attempt to eradicate that which we do not like, that which makes us uncomfortable, or that which we hate from the world, we are ultimately attempting to destroy a part of ourselves.

And humans do a fantastic job of that.

Perception is the interpretation of life.

So, when someone calls another person “negative,” what they are doing is interpreting a life appearing outside of their own and then punishing it for not appearing as they believe it should.

Which is essentially punishing life.

Punishing God itself.

To do this to another is ultimately to punish God’s creation.

So why do we do this?

Power, of course.

It makes us feel powerful.

And we lose life in the process.

Taking our mind off the world and placing it back into the self allows us to see how much of what we call living is actually experiencing life through our interpretation of it.

Because living life is now.

Presence.

God.

Eternality.

Nothing else is happening.

But damn if we don’t want it to be.

And damn if we aren’t determined to take something eternal, make it temporary, and then call that temporary thing good.

For power.

For money.

For ego itself.
