When we rejoin life, it shows us how much we hallucinate life.
This morning I was standing at the vanity, brushing my teeth, and I was off thinking about something else. I can’t even remember what it was now.
But I was standing in the room without being in the room.
That’s the hallucination we’re in.
Standing in mind while thinking we’re outside of mind.
Our minds pull us into places that don’t yet exist as concrete forms in physical reality, though the possibility of those forms already existed.
There is no I mind.
No you mind.
There is just mind moving through a person brushing their teeth.
And suddenly, the mundane becomes intimate.
It’s not my life anymore because there is no I to observe it or call it mine.
My body.
My feelings.
My toothbrush.
My reality.
My truth.
The words themselves create the distance.
There is just life, happening.
And something as simple as brushing my teeth becomes magical.
It’s experiential.
It’s a miracle.
And no one really cares, because there is no I reporting on it.
It’s simply happening.
It’s a life I’m sharing with the person driving their car, brushing their teeth, making their child a sandwich, or serving a death sentence in a prison.
No one is outside of this mind.
This is why people who knew the self without losing God, like Jesus Christ, weren’t walking in I.
They were walking in mind.
You could see and touch a body, but it wasn’t really there in the way we think it was. It belonged to what people called the Father—the life, the breath.
Everything before people divided it.
Before they called it truth.
Mine.
Real.
You.
Me.
There was life.
There was breath.
And there was no need to stand outside of it and name it.
Once you stop allowing your mind to use you and begin using your mind, life starts to come through more easily.
Suddenly, the writer can’t stop writing.
The creator can’t stop creating.
Not because inspiration has arrived, but because they are no longer hallucinating themselves outside of the writing or the creation.
They have rejoined it.
We’re all just volumes of immeasurable life forming into something we call physical and back again.
Where it ends and begins, no one really knows.
And when you stop stepping outside of it in your mind, you discover that you were never outside of it at all.
