When people talk about God or presence, what they are talking about is life.
Life of paradox.
Life of tension.
Life of creation.
Life of misunderstanding.
Because life is in all of these things.
No matter how present we are, we do not control life the way we think we do.
We don’t control anything when it comes to this movement.
It moves.
It recreates.
It reestablishes.
It uses prisons to produce something greater.
It is beyond humanity, yet it is also within it.
And when we lose our necessity to control ourselves, even briefly, our minds, our bodies, our thoughts, our movements, we begin to relax into a life that is already carrying us.
This doesn’t mean we don’t do things.
It means that instead of chasing, we act.
We act from a constitution that is inherently built.
Inherently known.
Given.
And yet, when we are present, something else becomes possible.
It is as though we are given visibility into the unseen world.
Not to control it.
To participate in it.
We begin moving things around.
Moving people closer to their destinies.
Away from danger.
Closer to revelation.
We touch something we cannot see, and somehow it touches back.
That is the power of the ones who give up what is known for what is not.
They stop demanding certainty before they move.
They stop requiring proof before they trust.
They become available to what cannot yet be explained.
And in that availability, they can touch anything, at any time.
Presence does not absolve humanity.
It makes humanity alive.
Alive to the fact that no matter how present we are, life is passing through our hands at remarkable speeds.
The gift is not to hold onto it too tightly.
The gift is to sit within it and enjoy it.
To taste it.
To experience it.
To let life move through our hands while we are still here to feel it, ponder it, explore it, and discuss it.
