What Do I Do Now?

What do I do now?

It is the question we ask ourselves when the championship is over, the title has been won, the degree has been earned, the goal has finally been reached.

What do I do now?

Human beings are always searching for something new.

New goals.

New appetites.

New things to worship.

New things to motivate us.

There is always the lure that this will be better.

Even when we know it isn’t true, we do it anyway.

We give up one pain for another.

One luxury for another.

One desire for another.

But you don’t lose God.

You don’t lose yourself.

They follow you.

Your experiences are yours. I cannot know how they look to you unless you tell me. And you cannot tell me honestly unless you first become honest with yourself.

You must confess your desires to know them.

Your desire to hate.

Your desire to win.

Your desire to heal.

Your desire to be seen.

You must claim them.

No one else can do that for you.

So if you are asking yourself, What do I do now?

Nothing.

Do nothing.

And everything comes to you.

Not because you have stopped living, but because you have stopped chasing.

With a grounded heart.

With an unstolen mind.

A mind not stolen by a world that keeps pushing you toward greatness when you are already there.

Pushing you toward love when you are already there.

Pushing you to become something more than what you already are.

Today.

As you are.

As we all are.

And suddenly, the question changes from:

What do I do now?

to:

Am I willing to be here, now?
