Spirit always moves you in the right direction.
You step outside into the morning having done your work. You have armed yourself with meditation, yoga, affirmations, prayer, a cup of coffee, a walk, music, a favorite reading, or whatever ritual brings your mind into alignment. What you choose to meet the day with reveals where your mind goes for fuel.
Some turn first to their phones. Others turn to their spouses, their careers, their achievements, or their fears. But no matter where the mind travels, the body follows. And it is spirit that gives you the privilege of experiencing it all.
This spirit is not a man or a woman. It is not confined to a form, a face, or an identity. It is life itself.
Jesus Christ called it the I AM. He did not reduce it to a person, because the I AM cannot be contained. It is not something outside of you waiting to be found. It is the very life moving through you, the breath that animates you, the consciousness that allows you to experience existence.
This is spirit.
Now imagine you have prepared yourself for the day. You have had your coffee, your prayers, your readings, your affirmations, your meditation, your moments of stillness. You have cultivated peace within yourself. You have done everything you believe you are supposed to do to walk in alignment.
And then life takes a direction you did not expect.
A loved one dies. You receive a diagnosis that changes everything. A relationship ends. A dream falls apart.
And suddenly the mind that felt peaceful begins to question.
“But I did everything right. I meditated. I prayed. I tried to live well. Why did this happen? Why am I being punished?”
The mind that once felt purified now believes it has become contaminated by suffering.
But the mind itself is not dirty or clean. Life itself cannot be either. It is only our interpretation of life that creates these judgments. The mind gives meaning to what happens, but spirit simply moves.
So what do we do when the unexpected arrives?
We return to the deeper knowledge that life is still carrying us. That even in the moments we cannot understand, we are being moved toward where we are meant to go.
Wherever you are, spirit brought you there.
Wherever you go, spirit moves with you.
The life of Jesus Christ was not merely the life of a body that walked the earth; it was the revelation of a life beyond the body, a spirit that continues to operate through love, consciousness, and connection.
Call it what you will. Spirit. God. The I AM. The divine presence. The life within.
The name does not matter.
What matters is that it is here.
It lives through you.
It lives through me.
And every moment we are given is an invitation to remember that we were never separate from it.
